PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

HEALhome, formerly known as H.E.A.L.: A Place to Call Home is a multifaceted art-intervention and community outreach program that explores the concept of home.  The overarching goal of the program is to give a creative voice to the displaced and homeless population and facilitate community dialogue, understanding and resolutions.  It aims to facilitate personal – and thus community – transformation and reconnection to a sense of belonging regardless of socioeconomic status while transcending cultural boundaries.

The four components of the program are as follows:

1)    provide training workshops and educational tools to work with population

2)    provide artist residencies and performances in shelters

3)    production of works of, by, and for the displaced/homeless population; and finally

4)    facilitate community discussions and collaboration on the topic.
